From Economic Development to Private Lending

Brooke Rubright's Path at Dominion

Brooke didn't come from lending.

She came from economic development, with a different perspective on what strong, effective marketing could look like and how organizations present themselves as they grow.

Dominion recognized that and gave her the opportunity to apply those skills in a space that was just beginning to invest more intentionally in its external presence.

That opportunity became the foundation for everything that followed.

Building the Foundation

When Brooke joined Dominion as a Marketing Assistant, the company wasn't heavily focused on external marketing.

The business was already strong, driven by a close network and consistent deal flow. That model worked, but as the company looked to grow, it became clear that expanding beyond that network would require a more intentional and visible external presence.

In 2021, one of Brooke's first major projects was helping lead a full rebrand and new website launch for Dominion Financial. It wasn't just a visual update. It marked the beginning of a more outward-facing strategy, one that positioned Dominion more clearly in the market and laid the groundwork for future growth.

The rebrand established a more defined identity and created consistency across how the company presented itself. It strengthened Dominion's presence with investors and partners and became a foundation the team could continue to build on.

From that point on, the brand became a more integrated part of how the business scaled.

Expanding the Brand

As Dominion grew, so did Brooke's role.

What started as a project evolved into ongoing ownership and stewardship of the brand across key touchpoints, including website and digital presence, social media and content, public relations, go-to-market materials, and campaign development.

Her focus extended beyond how things looked to how the company communicated, helping bring greater clarity, consistency, and alignment across channels.

As Dominion expanded beyond its initial network, the brand played an increasing role in how the company was discovered, understood, and trusted by a broader audience.

Growing With the Business

Since 2021, Dominion Financial has experienced significant growth, expanding its reach and strengthening its position nationally, including recognition on the Inc. 5000 Fastest Growing Private Companies list for two consecutive years.

Throughout that growth, the brand evolved alongside the business.

Brooke contributed to that progression by helping maintain consistency and quality as the company scaled. The result was a more cohesive and credible presence that reflected the company's operational strength and long-term direction.

From Execution to Direction

Over time, Brooke's role shifted from execution to leadership.

She moved from supporting marketing initiatives to helping guide the overall creative direction of the company, shaping how Dominion communicates across channels and maintaining a consistent standard across all output.

That progression led to her current role as Creative Manager, where she oversees the development and execution of the brand at a broader level.

Evolving With the Company

In 2026, Dominion entered a new phase of growth.

With a stronger focus on innovation and technology, the company underwent a second rebrand, one that reflects its position as a forward-looking, industry-leading lender.

Brooke has been closely involved in that evolution, helping translate the company's direction into a clear and cohesive brand identity.

As the brand became more defined and consistent, it also began to gain recognition beyond the company itself. In 2025, Dominion Financial was named a nominee for Marketing Campaign of the Year by IMN, an acknowledgment of the strength and cohesion the brand had developed over time.

What This Path Represents

Brooke didn't step into a fully built marketing function.

She grew with it.

Her path reflects what is possible in an environment where ownership is given early, expectations are high, and growth comes from taking responsibility over time.

At Dominion, roles aren't always rigidly defined. They evolve as the business evolves.

For those who take pride in their work, care about the details, and want to shape something that people see and experience every day, Brooke's story shows what that kind of growth can look like.
